'Jersey Shore' star Snooki hit with $7 million licensing lawsuit

Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi has been hit with a $7 million (£4.5 million) lawsuit over an alleged breach of advertising contract.

The Jersey Shore star originally filed a claim against SRG Ventures in October, alleging that the licensing company did not make her enough money and requesting that their agreement be terminated immediately.

However, SRG struck back this week, filing its own countersuit against Snooki, who they have accused of negotiating with several other brands behind their back and stalling on deals presented to her.

The New York Post reports that SRG had planned to brand personalised Snooki "school supplies, watches, shoes and lingerie".

A spokesperson for Snooki has refuted the claims, saying: "Ms. Polizzi disputes SRG's version of the facts and looks forward to her day in court."

No date in the case has currently been set, but SRG attorney Robert J. Hantman is said to be trying to have proceedings moved to Manhattan from Ulster County, New York.

Snooki's Jersey Shore co-star The Situation recently filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against clothing company Abercrombie & Fitch.
