Alec Baldwin kicked off American Airlines flight

Alec Baldwin was removed from an American Airlines flight on Tuesday.

The 30 Rock star had boarded a flight at Los Angeles International Airport but was kicked off the aircraft in what he claimed was a dispute over the iPhone application Words with Friends.

Former president and COO of MTV Networks Michael J Wolf was the first to report the incident, tweeting: "On an AA flight at LAX. Alec Baldwin removed from the plane We had to go back to the gate. Terrible that everyone had to wait."

Business coach Grant Cardone also confirmed Baldwin's removal from the flight, posting: "#Alec Baldwin is getting kicked off of AA flight as I tweet this!"

Asked the reason behind the altercation, Cardone claimed that it was due to "abusive conduct".

Baldwin himself finally took to Twitter to clarify the situation, insisting that he had been "reamed out" by American Airline employees and was treated unjustly.

"The flight attendant on American reamed me out for playing Words with Friends while we sat at the gate, not moving. No wonder American Air is bankrupt," Baldwin wrote.

"But, oddly, 30 Rock plays inflight on American. The real way is United."

Baldwin recently insisted that he will most likely not run for mayor of New York City.
