John Travolta's stolen Mercedes-Benz investigated by police
The disappearance of John Travolta's Mercedes-Benz 280SL has sparked a police investigation.
Travolta's Mercedes-Benz was allegedly stolen on Sunday when the actor parked the car on a Santa Monica street and then visited a Jaguar dealership.
The actor filed a police report after discovering that the car was missing, but no eyewitnesses saw the crime take place.
Santa Monica police have now opened up a "grand theft auto investigation" into the matter, with Sgt Richard Lewis saying that the incident likely took place within a "ten-minute window".
Sgt Lewis declined to comment on whether police believe Travolta was specifically targeted, adding: "I don't want to speculate because it's very early in the investigation."
Travolta's missing Mercedes-Benz 280SL has been valued at anywhere between $35,000 (£22,267) to $100,000 (£63,621).
A spokesperson for Travolta has not yet commented on the reported theft.
