Jon Bon Jovi personally denies death rumors with Facebook picture

Jon Bon Jovi has personally denied rumors of his death.

The musician - famous for international hits including 'Livin' on a Prayer' and 'Always' - was falsely reported to have been found unconscious in a hotel room by one blog and was said to have died from a heart attack at the Jersey Shore Medical Center.

A picture of Bon Jovi taken on Monday evening (December 19) posing in front of a Christmas tree was released on his band's Facebook page to quash the erroneous claims.

Bon Jovi's spokesperson had earlier told TMZ that the musician was alive and well, and performing at a charity show.

The singer and actor opened a 'pay what you can' charity restaurant in New Jersey with his wife Dorothea in late October.

Diners can choose how much they wish to pay for a meal at JBJ's Soul Kitchen by leaving payment in an envelope on their table, or pay for a meal by working a shift at the establishment.

Other celebrities who have been the subject of hoax death reports in the past 12 months include Kevin Bacon, Charlie Sheen, Jersey Shore cast member Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson - who tweeted: "I would love to meet the person who is starting rumors of my death - to show them how a dead foot feels up their ass."
