The Avengers trailer has launched online.
The Marvel comic book adaptation brings together iconic superheroes Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr) and Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) on the big screen for the first time.
The Avengers also features Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and S.H.I.E.L.D. chief Nick Fury (Samuel L Jackson).
Joss Whedon, the creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Firefly, has written and directed the blockbuster.
The Avengers will open in cinemas on May 4, 2012.
