Simon Cowell has 'a horrible nightmare' in 'X Factor' USA preview
The first full-length preview for The X Factor USA has been released by Fox.
The promo aired just before last night's Major League Baseball All-Star game.
The video opens with Simon Cowell, sporting a pink cable-knit jumper, and the judges watching a young girl performing 'Tomorrow' from the musical Annie at audition.
Cowell then speaks openly about how the passage of a year has changed him.
"This is a different decade. It's not about me anymore, it's about them. I want to make people's dreams come true... My attitude this year? Helping others make a better tomorrow," he proclaims.
However, Cowell wakes up in bed halfway through the clip and proclaims: "Wow! What a horrible nightmare!" before genuine footage from the auditions is shown.
The X Factor USA features former American Idol judge Simon Cowell, LA Reid, Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger on the judging panel, with Steve Jones as the show's host.
Scherzinger was named as a co-host for the series before becoming a judge in the wake of original judge Cheryl Cole's departure.
Auditions for the reality show began in March in Los Angeles, attracting thousands of potential contestants and breaking the record for the highest auditions turn-out for a singing competition in the city.
The winner of The X Factor USA is guaranteed a $5 million recording contract with Sony Music.
The X Factor USA premieres on September 21 at 8/7c on Fox.
