'The Dark Knight Rises': First poster for the new Batman movie

The first teaser poster for The Dark Knight Rises has been released.

The monochrome image, which shows a series of damaged skyscrapers rising towards an overcast sky, bears the words 'Summer 2012: In theatres and IMAX'.

The same picture also features on the front of the movie's website, thedarkknightrises.com.

A 93-second preview video for the film is expected to premiere at screenings of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 when it opens on Friday.

Fan-filmed footage has already emerged online, showing stars Christian Bale and Anne Hathaway filming on location at Wollaton Hall in Nottingham.

Filming is due to continue at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh later this summer.

The Dark Knight Rises, which stars Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman and Tom Hardy as the villainous Bane, is due to be released on July 20, 2012

  1. The poster looks mindblowing! I like how the towering-collapsing skyscrapers form a silhouette of the batman logo. This poster truly speaks for itself. Inspired by this, I recently just got a poster design made at http://www.logodesigncreation.com and it turned out great. For the price I paid it was indeed a steal! My poster design was not as sinister as this teaser poster but it is still as exciting. Can't wait for this movie! And Anne Hathaway will be in it. That's a plus.
